About Article Studio

We specialise in still-life and product photography, creating professional images for independent businesses, designer-makers and retailers.

We want to make commissioning photography more approachable for everyone, starting each job with a conversation. We like to find out what people do, how they make things or what they sell. Helping to tell your story and showing your products at their best is our aim and we will produce a collection of bespoke images to help achieve that for you. We like variety and enjoy the challenge of turning our hands to any sort of shoot, so whether you need images for your website, social media, brochure, editorial or advertising, just give us a shout.

We work from a spacious studio in an old dye house near Stroud, Gloucestershire. The studio is fully equipped and we can cater for shoots of all sizes – anything from simple product shots and flat lays to styled room sets and art installations. We’re a creative bunch and, in addition to photography, we can also offer art direction, styling, prop sourcing and set building.

Clients are always welcome to come to the studio while we shoot. We’re also happy to receive products via post and shoot them to an agreed brief, sending you images for approval throughout the day. Whatever option you prefer, we’ll make sure your shoot is smooth sailing from start to finish.

Article Studio’s photographer Stephen Lenthall has 25 years’ experience in the still life photography industry. Creative partner Jenny Bowers is a freelance illustrator and art director. They work collaboratively to create Article Studio images.

Pricing and commissioning work

Each shoot has its own unique requirements. We work in half or full days and can create a set, prop and style your shoot dependent on your needs. For simple product photography we can charge on a per item basis.
